What We Believe

Daystar believes in the future of those who are recovering from chemical addiction because of our faith in God and our experience with former addicts. We have shared their excitement in finding a new drug free life.

Daystar believes that addiction is a spiritual disease that requires deep faith to overcome. We respect each one's right to pursue their own spirituality, however, we insists upon "spirituality" that is compatible with Daystar principles. The healing process must include a belief system, positive relationships, and morality.

Recovery is more than removing chemicals from the body. It is an investment in the future. It is a giving and receiving of love, respect, and help. It is a nurturing of life instead of death. Recovery is growing from isolation, dependence, and self, to connection, interdependence, and God. Recovery is a spiritual journey.

DAYSTAR understands itself to be a Christian mission. DAYSTAR believes that persons of faith have a responsibility to help free others who are addicted and affected by addiction. We invite all who share our values to join us in this mission. Our Star Associates (volunteers), staff, board members, clients, graduates, donors and prayer partners are the "DAYSTAR family." We believe that as we help the addicted overcome their spiritual disease, we too are helped to overcome whatever negative forces bind us.
